Data & privacy

Privacy policy

This website is a handful of public pages about Berlin Operators, and it collects as little data as possible. This notice explains what we process when you visit, contact us, or click one of our ads.

1. Who is responsible

BE-OP Berlin Operators UG (haftungsbeschränkt), represented by Managing Director Ivan Sanz, Kolonnenstraße 8, 10827 Berlin, Germany. Contact: kontakt@berlinoperators.de. More details are in our Impressum.

2. Hosting and delivery

The site is stored with a hosting provider in the European Union. A global content delivery network, Fastly, keeps copies on servers around the world, which makes the site faster, more reliable and harder to attack. Fastly only holds copies: the original files and our access log stay in the EU, so we can replace Fastly without moving the site.

To deliver a page, Fastly processes your IP address and basic request details (time, page, browser type). It keeps IP addresses for a few days at most, longer only if linked to an attack or security incident. Our hosting provider does not receive your IP address when you load a page.

We keep an access log without IP addresses: which pages are visited, when, from which website, and whether from a phone, a computer or a bot. We use it to keep the site secure and to count visits, and delete it within 30 days. No cookies, no visitor profiles.

Both providers work on our behalf under data processing agreements. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in a secure, reliable website. Our old server’s system logs may contain IP addresses and are deleted within 30 days.

3. Enquiries and call bookings

If you email us, fill in a form or book a call (for example through Cal.eu, hosted in the EU), we use what you send us to reply, hold the call and, where relevant, prepare an engagement. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (steps at your request before a contract) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (handling business enquiries). Please don’t send sensitive data or credentials. We keep enquiries only as long as needed, unless the law requires longer. Booking tools run on our behalf under data-protection terms. Our email is hosted by Proton AG in Switzerland, which has an EU adequacy decision.

4. Advertising

We advertise on platforms such as LinkedIn. Each platform handles ad data under its own privacy terms (for LinkedIn: linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy). If you click one of our ads, Fastly serves you a copy of this site, just as for any other visit. It processes only the basic technical information described in section 2. The link may show which campaign you came from, but our access log does not store that. We do not use tracking pixels or conversion tags from any ad platform. If that changes, we will ask for your consent first.

5. No analytics or third-party content

No analytics, no advertising cookies, no third-party fonts, no embedded third-party content.

6. Recipients and transfers outside the EU

We share data only with the providers named here, and only as needed. We do not sell data. Fastly is a US company. The request data described in section 2 (your IP address and basic request details) may therefore be processed in the USA. This is covered by Fastly’s certification under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, with the EU Standard Contractual Clauses as a fallback.

7. Your rights

You can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or a copy of your data, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Email kontakt@berlinoperators.de. You can also complain to a supervisory authority; in Berlin that is the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (BlnBDI), Alt-Moabit 59–61, 10555 Berlin.

8. Voluntary information, no automated decisions

Contacting us is voluntary; without the details we need, we may not be able to reply. We make no automated decisions about you.
